Persian folk tales occupy a special place in the world folklore due to their unique color and flavor. There are dozens of Persian folk tales characters that have been borrowed by other peoples, for instance, the genies, which have penetrated even into the European literature. Reading the Persian folk tales, you will also find much in common with Armenian folk tales. The following collection is the first complete edition of Persian folk tales in the Armenian language. It includes 88 tales. The book is translated and developed by translator and expert in literature Gevorg Asatryan, who was able to keep the balance between the literary and colloquial languages, avoiding any irrelevant colloquialism as well as too formal speech patterns inappropriate to a folk tale. The book was illustrated by the extraordinary artist Vahan Topchyan, and the hard and capital-intensive work of publishing was carried out by “Edit Print” publishing house.
