About Mushegh Galshoyan
Mushegh Galshoyan was born Mushegh Manukyan in Katnaghbyur to a family whose roots lay in Sasun. After agricultural studies and work as a journalist, he emerged as a major prose writer in Soviet Armenia.
His novella Dzori Miro and related stories portray survivors, descendants, and the continuing emotional geography of Western Armenia. Galshoyan’s spare, compassionate prose joins individual memory to the wider history of displacement and cultural survival.
