About Siamanto
Siamanto (1878–1915), born Adom Yarjanian in Agn, was a Western Armenian poet and public intellectual. He studied in Constantinople and Paris and wrote across the Armenian communities of Europe, the Ottoman Empire, and the United States.
His vivid symbolist poetry confronts massacre, exile, grief, and resistance while sustaining a vision of justice and national renewal. Siamanto was arrested and killed during the Armenian Genocide in 1915.
