About Stepan Zoryan
Stepan Zoryan (1890–1967), born Stepan Arakelyan in Karakilisa, now Vanadzor, was an Armenian novelist, short-story writer, editor, and translator.
His early fiction portrays Armenian village life and social change with realism and restraint. He also wrote major historical novels, most notably King Pap, bringing questions of statehood, leadership, and conflict to a wide readership.
