Description

Avesta. Ancient Iranian Songs and Lyrics

Avesta is the sacred book of the pre-Islamic religion of the Iranian people, Zoroastrianism, which was created in BC. Oral form in the 1st half of the 1st millennium. It was later written down (in the 3rd century AD) in a language of the Indo-European satem branch, conventionally called the Avesta language. Zoroastrianism has summed up the elements of Iranian mythology, customs and worldview, and the pillars of the moral structure of that religion are good thought, good speech and good action, which have become the main landmark of that religion. Zoroastrianism, being a direct descendant of the beliefs of the Indo-European mother people, is also a basis for studying and explaining the myths and customs of other Indo-European speaking peoples. Avesta is being published in Armenian in its entirety for the first time in a separate book.
