Description
Elif Shafak's The Forty Rules of Love is one of her most iconic novels. The novel is based on the story of the friendship between Rumi and his teacher Shams Tavrizetsi. The writer turned to one of the tricks of the postmodernist novel, referring to the story of Rumi and Shams through the prism of today's life. Through a trick in the novel, the writer enumerates forty symbolic rules of love and shows that love, whether in the thirteenth or twenty-first century, transforms but never changes, is diverse and enduring.
