Description
Homer - Odyssey
The book includes a new translation into Eastern Armenian from the ancient Greek original of the second epic poem "Odyssey" by the greatest poet of the ancient world, the founder of European literature, Homer (8th century AD), with an extensive preface and notes. The translation of "Iliad" by Gohar Muradyan and Aram Topchyan was published in 2022. Therefore, this edition completes the new translation of Homer's literary heritage. There are few works that can be compared with these two immortal literary monuments in terms of their significance and huge impact on European culture. The "Iliad" and "Odyssey" have been the subject of admiration and imitation both in the ancient world, in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and in modern times. As unsurpassed examples of the epic, they continue to captivate and fascinate us even today.
