Description
After his father's death, Alain drops out of school and becomes a club bouncer. He dreams of money, parties in Saint-Tropez, and having his own bar in Genoa. His cousin gets into trouble, making secret deals behind his back. Then brotherhood turns into distrust, betrayal, and violence. Alain's beloved, Flo, leaves him and the city. Alain is left alone, like a zombie, a shadow stuck between day and night, past and present. But one day, his uncle tells him about a treasure hidden in their family's and ancestors' country. And Alain sets off on a journey to that foreign homeland: Armenia. Nuran David Calis tells a bold and unadorned story about inflamed longing, surrender, and rebirth. He masterfully draws the psychological and social portraits of his characters. The title of the novel is inspired by the song of the same name by Jan Delay and Moonbootica, emphasizing the musical layer of the book, full of hip-hop beats. It is a touching, dramatic, and shocking debut: wild and passionate, rough and crazy.
