Nelli Shahnazaryan’s novel title comes from a line in the Gospel “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.” As we say “Let the spirit turn into light”, thus “A handful of light” is the same “Spirit that gives life”. The novel, by its compositional peculiarities, reveals a difficult human destiny.
About the author
Nelli Shahnazaryan is the author of five books – “My Peach Tree Blossomed”, “And the Applause is in the Sky”, "Collection of Articles", “Selection”, “Warm Breath”. Her plays were staged at the National Academic Theatre after G. Sundukyan, Vanadzor State Drama Theatre after A. Abelyan, Tehran University of Theatre, in the capital of Hungary – Budapest. A TV movie was filmed based on her play "Stand up, open your door". Her monodrama "Procession" was awarded first prizes and special diplomas in a number of international festivals. Many of her stories have been translated into 13 languages.
