Yevgeny Zamyatin's "We" (1920) is a classic anti-utopia, which has had an indisputable effect on such well-known works of the genre as Oldos Huxley's "Wonderful New World" and George Orwell's "1984". "Menq" was once perceived as a satirical satire of the socialist order and communism, and Soviet censorship banned the publication of the novel. The Russian full text of "We" was first published in full in 1952 in New York, and in Russia only in 1988.
