About Armen Shekoyan

Born in Yerevan, Armen Shekoyan studied at the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute and later attended literary courses at the Gorky Institute in Moscow. He worked as an editor and cultural administrator while publishing poetry and prose.

Shekoyan became known for anti-poetry, colloquial language, irony, and close attention to everyday Yerevan life. His books range from Hotel Yerevan and The Silk Road to the long-running novel Armenian Time, making him a distinctive post-Soviet literary voice.
