About Mark Aren

Mark Aren is the literary pen name of Karen Markaryan, a contemporary Armenian writer whose novels combine historical settings with psychological and philosophical questions.

His best-known work, Anatolian Story: Where the Wild Roses Bloom, examines love, memory, and the Armenian experience across generations. His fiction frequently revisits difficult histories through personal stories and moral dilemmas.
