The book includes a new complete translation from the ancient Greek original of the first epic poem "Iliad" by the greatest poet of the ancient world, the founder of European literature, Homer (8th century BC), into Eastern Armenian, with an extensive preface and notes. There are few works that can be compared with this immortal literary monument in terms of their significance and huge impact on European culture. The Iliad has been an object of admiration and imitation both in the ancient world, in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and in modern times. As an unsurpassed example of the epic, it continues to captivate and fascinate us even today.
