Description
Nane Barseghyan grew up in Soviet Armenia, but leaves everything behind to travel to the Rogawa region of Kurdistan in Syria, hoping to find her real father. Accompanied by her niece, journalist Alma Barseghyan, Nane finds herself in a place of war and violence. They both end up joining the women's detachment, where brave women protect their land which has not seen peace for a long time. The army of women who go through the heaviest trials gives the most important lesson: nothing in life is given without a fight. Nane's story takes place against the backdrop of the Islamic State, Turkish troops, and the struggle against the difficult reality of Syria. In this novel, Magda Tagtachian presents a powerful story of identity and love gained in the midst of war, combining emotional depth with journalistic rigor.
