Description
Paul Ekman is an American psychologist, considered one of the best experts in the field of non-verbal communication of the 20th century. He was the first to examine human emotions and their relation to facial expressions. At the heart of Ekman's study is the change in the nature of human emotions and deception during empirical research. He rejects anthropologists' belief that culture dictates masquerades, insisting that they are universal in nature and have a biological basis. Paul Ekman has now updated his research by delving deeper into the methods of exposing lies. Ekman analyzes the deceptive tactics of internationally known figures such as Adolf Hitler and Richard Nixon, as well as the behavior of couples and criminals who have broken their oath of allegiance, and shows that the success of a liar often depends on a willing, innocent "victim." He describes the types of lies, the reasons for the failure of the lie, interprets how the body of the liar, the voice and the facial expressions tell a lie.
