Description
This second volume of the critical edition of Zareh Vorbuni’s literary works includes the fourth and fifth novels of The Persecuted series: An Ordinary Day (1974) and the previously unpublished Tigran (written between 1973–1979). Both novels portray the lived experience of exile in the Armenian diaspora—specifically in Paris and Marseille. An Ordinary Day captures the events of a single day, while Tigran unfolds over six days and marks a pivotal shift in both character and narrative structure. Like the protagonists of the first volume, Tigran is persecuted not only by external forces but also by his own internal struggles. The volume includes extensive annotations based on unpublished archival material, shedding light on Vorbuni’s complex creative process and the evolution of his manuscripts. Compiled and edited by Grigor Peltian, with Siranush Dvoyan serving as the general editor.
