Adel Kamel's "The Magnificient Conman of Cairo" knows no time or boundaries. Kamel writes about Cairo in the 1930s, where the young heroes Khaled and Malim try to make their way in the chaos of the world. Khaled, son of cruel and rich Ahmed Pasha Khorshed, after completing his studies abroad, does not become the man his father dreamed of. Malim, the son of a crazy perfume seller on the streets, wants to start a new chapter in life and earn a living with a decent job. It seems that Khaled and Malim's paths will never cross, but in Kamel's Egypt, a man does not make his own destiny, and an unexpected chain of coincidences changes Khaled and Malim's lives irrevocably.
