Annie Ernaux's novel "Place" won the prestigious Renaudot Prize in 1984. The novel explores the inevitable and often unavoidable boundaries that separate people from each other. At its core, it is a meditation on the interrupted dialogue between a father and daughter who have become estranged. In 2022, Annie Ernaux was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for her work on "Collective Memory" and "Personal Memory".
