Description
This is a story about the difference between mud and a river—except the mud isn’t quite mud, and the river isn’t quite a river. It’s about a person caught in both. And if it's about a person, then it’s about a country too. It could also be said that this is a story of a strange operation—an act of historical surgery—where a human is given a pig’s heart. And yet, the human remains human, and the pig remains a pig. If it’s about the individual, then it must be about the nation as well. It might also be described as a tale of "Divine Judgment," where the accuser is just as guilty as the accused. But perhaps, at its core, this is a story about someone who has learned to swim—someone who enters the river and swims upstream, believing that only by going against the current can the impossible be overcome. In the end, this is a novel—one that tells the story of a first victory. A victory of a person. And if a person, then a country.
