The novel "Wounds of Armenia" became a turning point in the new age of Armenian literature. It's a valuable input in the Armenian historiography. It's the first work written in the modern Armenian language (ashkharhabar) and was understandable for the whole population of all social classes of the 19th century, which gives the novel a higher value.
