This unique novel-memoir by Orhan Pamuk is an interweaving of the stories of the writer, his childhood, his favorite city, Istanbul. In this book, the author has collected more than three hundred paintings, archival materials from various photographers, their family album, drawings and engravings from different periods. Thanks to these pictures, the book resembled an archive, which includes both written and visual evidence. Thanks to the autobiographical details, the reader gets acquainted with the life of the writer Orhan Pamuk, better understands his style.
