Telephone Tales

Author: Gianni Rodari

Gianni Rodari's Tales on Telephone, with its bright imaginary world and freshness, is acquiring a stronger hold on more and more readers as time passes. The story goes about every possibly impossible situation and characters in a very common manner as if that's the normal way of things. Here we have Giovannino the Tramp's journey in unknown lands, Alice Thumbelina’s adventures and castles of ice cream and chocolate-glazed roads…
Gianni Rodari writes about the most serious problems of life with a magic touch of a storyteller adding portions of his subtle humor and converting them into unbelievably fancy stories.

Gianni Rodari (23 October 1920 – 14 April 1980) was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his children's books, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's writer he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970 and many consider him Italy's most important twentieth-century children's author. His books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
